These are the definitive iconic product from industrial manufacturing. Foundry moulds are the male wooden plug hand made to replicate the shape being cast. The mould is then packed in a casting sand creating a female mould ready for molten steel or iron to be poured. To this day most foundries still use this process and some of the wooden plug moulds are just the most amazing sculptural objects.
