1950’s Compact Surveillant Desk – Atelier Jean Prouve. Prouvé is one of the most respected French designers of the 21st Century. Prouve regarded himself as an engineer, famously both designing and manufacturing his product ideas. Prouvé was perhaps best known for his modular building systems, he was intrigued by modular industrial production and was involved in every detail from the handle to the door. This listing is for the compact Surveillant Desk, a design fully attributed to Prouvé. The structural aqua metal frame is reminiscent of the work of Mullca and is a design well known in France, the rest of the desk is solidly made in oak. We found the desks in France in exceptional original condition and we have cleaned them that is all. Knee clearance: 64cm.
