Description:

1960’s Mid-Century Cupboard With Eight Off White Drawers. Produced by Drevotvar in the Czech Republic. Czech design will always be affiliated to the Bauhaus movement which inspired a generation of design and industrial production in Czechia principally during the second half of the 20th Century with producers such as Ton and Up Zavody amongst many others. Drevotvar began as a cooperative of seventeen craftsman in Dělnický klub in Jablonné nad Orlicí in 1951 and is still producing furniture today. This is a high quality practical cabinet with eight good size drawers and various internal sections, a brilliant storage piece. In exceptional original condition the cabinet has been sensitively cleaned. waxed and restored in our own workshop, the drawers run smoothly and the cabinet is strong and stable. The central section drops down revealing a mirror and various internal shelves. The design is reminiscent of Jiri Jiroutek. The drop down section can be used as a small desk.
