1960’s Good Sized Mid Century Four Double Bookshelf – Up Zavody. Superb practical piece of mid century storage by the Czech maker Up Zavody. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the Bauhaus school. The main cabinet is made from well figured birch, the drawer boxes are acrylic and run well on beech runners. The whole cabinet is beautifully made sitting on ebonised A frame legs. The left cabinet has two adjustable shelves on top. The bottom cabinet has one adjustable shelf and doors that open smoothly. The right cabinet has two drawers and a fixed shelf. Our workshop has gently cleaned and restored the cabinets so all drawers and doors run well and the cabinet is in good original condition. Listing is for both units which structurally must be connected, but can be pulled apart.
