Description:
1950’s Honey Café Ton Bentwood Dining Chairs. High quality good scale dining chairs produced by the famous Czech firm Ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs. After World War II, the Thonet factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem (Czech Republic) was nationalized by the state in the era of communism in Czechoslovakia. In 1953, the company was officially renamed TON, which is an acronym for Továrny na Ohýbaný Nábytek, meaning “Bentwood Furniture Factory” in Czech. We have gently restored the chairs but kept the original character and patina which is what this chair is all about. A strong sturdy chair of good scale and unusually detailed design. We service each chair individually before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.
