1940’s Solid Pitch Pine French Merchants Bank Of Drawers – Sixteen Drawers. One of the most characterful pieces we have come across in our travels. Originally the drawers were from a hardware merchants, the practical drawer size and labels indicate, as well as the lower cost use of pitch pine, but with heavy duty dovetail joints. The cabinet has unfinished ends, so it was in a shop with cabinets either side. The cabinets condition looks like it was repurposed in a workshop for day to day use where it has had a rich history with scars and paint spills but we have left it as it is, that’s its history. Our workshop has serviced all the drawers they are well used but are strong and shut fine. A hugely original piece, we have cleaned and serviced it but left the character.
