1940’s Original Mercury Glass Adjustable Wall – Ceiling Lamp. Made by Instala in Decin Czech republic, these are very early surviving lamps from the forties. The lamp is a simple adjustable reflective lamp that can be put on the ceiling or wall. The arm can move in a 180-degree arc, up and down and the shade can spin on a 360-degree swivel. The lamp has been cleaned and restored and tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. The lamp comes completely wired and ready to install, due to the nature of the lamp holder design we have left the original lamp holder which is in excellent condition. The shade is mouthblown glass, mercury silver on the inside and painted grey on the outside. The lamp is fitted with a standard E27 threaded lamp holder for which a wide range of modern and vintage style filament bulbs are widely available. We do not currently sell bulbs and recommend LED bulbs 6W maximum. The lamp is currently wired and fitted for UK and EU compliance. The lamp can be wired for compliance in the US or any global market. Listing is for one lamp.

We take electrical safety very seriously, our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that every lamp leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. Each lamp has been cleaned and restored and all original electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. Each lamp comes completely wired.
