Description:

1940's Mouthblown Hungarian  Storage Jars - Large. Traditional handmade storage jars made in small workshops in Hungary these are beautiful vintage storage jars, mouthblown locally. The top edge is hand rolled and the beauty is that every piece is different. The jars are collected from local villages where they were traditionally used by families for the storage of pickles and other kitchen goods. They were generally sealed with cork or wood lids and then wax sealed and covered with a cloth. We can't be precise on age but they are generally from the 1920's through to the 1950's. Average diameter is 15cm and height 28cm.

All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
