1910’s Bentwood Oversize Hoop Arm Dining Chairs – Mundus – Set Of Three
1910’s Bentwood Oversize Hoop Arm Dining Chairs – Mundus – Set Of Three. At the beginning of the 20th Century their were two (amongst others) competing bentwood producers, J&J Kohn and Mundus. Both produced chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire. Undoubtedly due to a combination of commercial pressure from the market leading producer Thonet and the political upheaval of the time, the firms merged in 1914. These chairs are marked Mundus so are must be pre 1914. Beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs, this is an exceptional set of three oversize arm chairs in excellent condition.
