1890's Early Debrecen Bentwood Dining Chairs - Set Of Four. Rare set of four chairs by the Hungarian producer Debrecen it is hard to be precise about the origin of these chairs as little history is known, but what we do know is at the beginning of the 20th Century Debrecen was a bentwood maker in Hungary. Three major producers existed in Hungary, producing chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire. These chairs are late 19th Century, they not labelled Debrecen but we are confident they are. Beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs, with stamped seats and a host of diligent repairs are all part of their charm. All our chairs pass through our own workshop where they are gently serviced and sensitively restored, we only sell vintage of excellent quality. Seat Height 47cm
