1950's Original French Tolix H Metal Café Dining Stools Bright Blue - Set Of Three. Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered the he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a fre years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic café chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. The H stool by Tolix is also an icon of industrial French design and this set comes from the French air force. Retaining the original paint and in exceptional condition, look closely and you will see some the X cross supports have been rewelded, presumably by the air force. Seat Height 45cm
