Description:
19th Century French University Teaching Shapes - Lens Holder. We know little of the history or use of this object but it comes from the late 19th Century, from a French universities scientific archive. We believe it may have contained a lens used to refract light in various experiments as we have listed separately some of objects which would have been used to refract and create shadows. A beautiful and rare object. The stand is ebonised hand turned beech. The listing is for the single lens holder as shown.
