Description:
1960's Trafitol Vulcanised Card Storage Boxes - Large Quantity Available. In 1853 the textile industrial revolution arrived in Loos, Nord France with the formation of the Esquermes factory by Alfred Thirez. The factories produced cotton thread for sewing and embroidery. This boom in the textile industry produced a need for practical industrial storage solutions and Trafitol from Gent, Suroy and others sprung to life to meet this new industrial market. The boom for practical hard wearing dry, robust containers that could store the textile raw materials, spawned the invention of vulcanised fibreboard, a tough rigid and practical card that was boiled and formed, typically in the iconic dusty red colourway.
