1950’s German Printers Workshop Cabinet – Tambour Top

Description

1950’s German Printers Workshop Cabinet – Tambour Top. A highly unusual and very intriguing cabinet that came from a printers workshop. Used as a mobile work station the cabinet retains its original caster wheels so it could be moved around as a mobile work station. The two tambour roller shutter tops slide back smoothly revealing two good internal workspaces. At the front there are six good sized drawers which originally could be locked shut using the side panels that come across to lock the drawers from moving, although sadly we do not have the original keys. The drawers all run smoothly and retain the original pressed handles. Beautifully made principally in solid birch this was a serious piece of furniture with an expensive locking mechanism to protect the contents and unusually with tambour sliding doors on the top section. Internal dimensions: Drawers 46L x 45Wx 13H, top workspaces 68L x52W x20H (front)x29H (back) , all CM.
