1950’s French Baumann Fourmi Dining Chair With Upholstered Seat – Good Quantity Available
1950’s French Baumann Fourmi dining chair with upholstered seat – good quantity available. Baumann is a slightly off the radar French producer just starting to gain traction in the market. Baumann was founded in 1901, by Swiss man Emile Baumann, in Colombier Fontaine, France. Baumann started producing a simple childs chair but grew rapidly to be a large bentwood producer with showrooms all over France. In our view the chairs of the 50’s and 60′ are their best, beautifully made and designed. Thie model is the Fourmi with an elegant shaped seat and back in laminated and bent beech. The fixed seat cushions are the original rexine type tough upholstery with a thin foam core, some of the seat pads have very minor wear holes/nicks mostly around the seat pad edge although we use a proprietary technique to colour match them so they are less visible. We have cleaned them, that’s all. If you want an uber stylish chair that you won’t see often this will hit the spot. We have a number of these chairs available and are selling them in any multiple required, sets of four, six, eight or simply in singles. We specialise in high quality vintage dining chairs and have a large range. We only sell the very best chairs in great condition with rich colour and patina, please see the other dining chairs we have listed and please contact us for more details or advice. Seat Height 46cm
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life.
