1950’s Czech Freestanding Shelving Unit – Room Divider
Description
1950’s Czech Freestanding Shelving Unit – Room Divider. Beautiful simple and classic mid century shelving system sourced in the Czech Republic. The shelves are beautifully made with three oak uprights and multiple fixed shelves. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the Bauhaus school. The shelves will be delivered ‘flat pack’ for ease of handling but are easily put together with basic tools. The shelves have fixed positions and the three legs come with adjustable feet at each end for securing to the floor and ceiling. The wooden shelf frame is 216cm long. The adjustable supports add a minimum of 24 cm at each end (48 cm total), so the minimum overall height of the whole unit is 264cm. The supports can extend to a maximum of 39cm at each end (78cm total) meaning the maximum overall height of the whole unit is 294cm.Individual shelf depth is 27cm, length 56cm. We use the term freestanding as the shelf system is rigid and strong but needs to be held in position by winding up/down the leg supports to use compression force to secure t to the floor and ceiling, no other fixings are provided or needed. A good practical piece of elegant mid century furniture. We sell high quality vintage and our workshop has gently restored this piece to bring out its original colour.
