1950’s Belgian Laboratory Chest – Bank Of Drawers – Sixteen Drawers

Description

1950’s Belgian Laboratory Chest – Bank Of Drawers – Sixteen Drawers. Sourced from a college in Belgium this is a very practical bank of drawers originally made for storage of laboratory glassware and equipment. The carcass is high quality oak with panelled sides and a good panelled back. The drawers are birch ply simply pinned on to the birch drawers. This sort of drawer construction was often done to avoid the heavy weight of solid drawers and drawer fronts which can make daily use less practical, and at the same time give the piece a refined pure character. The drawers are strong and robust and our workshop has serviced, cleaned and waxed the whole piece making sure all drawers run smoothly. Original throughout with an original set of cast fifties handles. A great practical piece. Internal drawer dimensions 36L x 12H x 39W all cm
