1940’s Tall French Oak Glass Fronted Cabinet (1098)
1940’s Tall French Oak Glass Fronted Cabinet (1098). A simple and understated French farmhouse tall cabinet of elegant proportions. Beautifully made in solid oak, probably by a local carpenter the cabinet features two sliding glass doors on the upper section with two oak sliding doors below. In the top section the shelves are very adjustable using the original ‘toothed’ uprights on which the shelves rest, shelves are also completely removable if required. The back panel retains its original muted green paper lining. The glass framed doors run smoothly and can run completely from side to side but have been adjusted to close properly sitting on one designated side. The doors run on traditional brass runners which work well but are simple brass and not fitted with ball bearings. Both sides are beautifully panelled. Internal shelf dimensions. 38L x 92W, as photographed the space between the shelves is 46/40/42/53 all cm from top to bottom. The bottom cabinet is 33 H and has a fixed bottom shelf and two sliding cabinet doors. The cabinet is made as one piece and does not split in two.
