1920’s Circular Oak Side Table – JJ Kohn. This side table was made by the Teschen workshop of Jacob and Josef Kohn, contemporary competitors to Thonet. Kohn was one of the leading bentwood producers in Austria – Hungary. After the brothers deaths at the end of the 19th Century Kohn merged with their other competitor Mundus in 1914. The table is made of oak with beautifully detailed legs with a turned reeded detail. Diminutive in scale and the design is very much 1920’s. A rare survivor of the original Kohn production with beautiful branding underneath The table is of exceptional original condition and colour with untouched construction using hand cut screws.
