1910’s Bentwood Dining Chairs – Mundus – Set Of Six

Description

1910’s Bentwood Dining Chairs – Mundus – Set Of Six. At the beginning of the 20th Century their were two (amongst others) competing bentwood producers, J&J Kohn and Mundus. Both produced chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire. Undoubtedly due to a combination of commercial pressure from the market leading producer Thonet and the political upheaval of the time, the firms merged in 1914. These chairs are marked Mundus so are undoubtedly pre 1914. Beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs. All our chairs pass through our own workshop where they are gently serviced and sensitively restored, we only sell vintage of excellent quality. Seat height 47cm.
