1930’s Church Chairs
England has a wonderfully rich heritage for making chairs. At the height of production at the turn of the last century over 4500 chairs were being produced daily in the villages around High Wycombe. Each chair was hand made typically in Oak or Elm. We have a passion for Church chairs and will blog about the history at some stage. We also have a growing collection to highlight the immense variety of shapes and styles that were so beautifully made. Sadly Churches find non stacking chairs take up too much space so they find their way to us to for a second rich life. This set is in incredible condition, handmade in Elm they are faultless, look under the seats and you can see the original saw marks, slightly primitive, but honest and true. Seat Height 43cm. Volume available.
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
